The programme shows how digital disruption changes the nature of competition, bending markets towards monopolistic competition, which, in turn, changes the way we need to think about strategy and create value. It is based upon Andrew Taylor's recent book Making Sense of Digital Disruption: A Practical Guide for Executives. The course uses well known examples to help participants understand the evolution of their own markets and plan how they might want to change to maximise value creation and customer loyalty.
Changing management culture from asking the question ‘how to do things right’ and shift to asking the more fundamental question of ‘what are the right things?’ A structure will be provided to enable executives to think about the nature of the challenge that they face, before rushing to known best practices. In periods of disruption or complexity working harder at established best practices may not only be wasteful, but actually harmful. This programme shows them how to identify what sort of challenge that they face and how to respond appropriately. Periods of disruption require a shift away from efficiency, optimisation and productivity towards resilience, adaptability and innovative thinking. The programme combines established analytical models, case studies and practical work on participants' own businesses, such that knowledge transfer and the ability to apply the training is maximised.
